Waterworks Gallery
Our interactive Waterworks Gallery brings the science of water to life through play, with engaging exhibits designed especially for younger visitors.


Splash Zone
Let your little ones steam off and cool down in our our Splash Zone! An interactive play area in the Waterwheel Courtyard where kids can discover the power of water through hands-on learning.
Train Rides
All aboard! On select days at weekends, our small locomotive Thomas Wicksteed will be steaming on the tracks. Check our What's On for upcoming dates.


Special Events
There are also regular trails, themed crafts, and displays during weekends and school holidays – perfect for keeping little ones entertained while learning something new. Check our What's On for upcoming events.
Access and Facilities
We have baby changing facilities and potty training seats available in our male, female and accessible toilets.
There are spare changes of clothes to borrow, and nappies. Please ask at the front desk.
There is a small buggy park in our shop area. You are welcome to keep buggies with you; a step-free route is available throughout most of the Museum
Picnics are welcome in the Splash Zone and Museum garden.

With space to picnic, buggy-friendly access, and a warm welcome from our team, the museum is a great choice for a relaxed and memorable family day out.
