World Water Day – Film Festival

23rd March

World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, is an annual United Nations Observance focusing on the importance of freshwater. World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis.

This year we are very excited to announce that we have partnered with the World Water Film Festival, and following on from their debut film festival in New York in 2022, the London Museum of Water & Steam will be the first venue in Europe to screen these evocative, educational and inspiring films, submitted from across the world.

The World Water Film Festival is a non-profit film festival for filmmakers and storytellers from all over the world to highlight human-water relationship issues and concerns that inspire an action step for the viewer beyond its entertainment and informative value.

“We are excited to facilitate a platform for filmmakers of all abilities from around the world,” said Robert Strand, World Water Film Festival CEO, “to leverage the medium and artform of film demonstrating how people have the power and the right to protect our freshwater from pollution and overexploitation.”

The films will be screened throughout the day, in various locations of the museum. There is no additional charge for the film festival, but normal admission to the museum applies. No need to book, just turn up. If you would like to pre book find tickets for the day here.
