Wagoneering Workshop

🚂 WAGONEERING WORKSHOP (Ticketed experience)
Ready to take your imagination full steam ahead? In this paid workshop, design and build your own wagon to run on the 16mm model train track! Precision, power, and play come together in this exciting engineering challenge. Limited spaces available — book early!
Young engineers must be accompanied by a paying adult to take part. Tickets cost £18 per participating child. This covers all materials to make a take home model wagon, 1.5 hour guided activity, and admission to museum. Plus bring your wagon back to the museum on 16 mm running weekends and see it speed around the track.
To take part in the full workshop please plan to spend at least 3 hours at the museum as the wagon will need to dry before being run on the 16mm track. During the break visit the museum, have lunch, play in the splash zone, and then return to run your wagon on the 16mm train track.
Day Schedule:
10:00-11:00 First workshop
11:00-12:00 Second workshop
12:30-13:00Â First workshop wagons run on 16 mm track
13:30-14:00 Second workshop wagons run on 16 mm track
*recommended for ages 7 and up. Younger children will need support for accompanying adult for portions of the workshop.
