The Living Thames – Film Screening

23rd June @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary The Living Thames.

Introduced by Sir David Attenborough, and presented by environmentalist Chris Baines, The Living Thames gives a voice to the many people with a hand in making the Thames Estuary the great river it is. Despite its sometimes chequered and difficult history, this film illustrates how the estuary and its environs have not only flourished but evolved and adapted, promising hope for the future.

Followed by a Q&A session with director/producer Dorothy Leiper, Water Conservator Rob Casey and Dr Fiona Haughey, the only archaeologist with a thesis on the Thames.
Dr Haughey will also display, and talk about, a wide range of artefacts she has found on the Thames, dating from 10,000 years ago to today.

The film will be shown in the Babcock room during our monthly Steam Up. Entry to the film screening is included in the cost of your tickets. Tickets for June 23rd can be purchased on our website, or at the front desk upon arrival. Please plan for time to enter the museum, as the film will start promptly at 12:30pm.
