Summer Holidays – Play! Imagineering

22nd July 2023 @ 10:00 am - 6th August 2023 @ 4:00 pm

We’re kicking off our summer holidays with imagineering! We’re open Wednesday to Sunday 10am until 4pm.

What is imagineering? It is when you take amazing creative ideas, and turn them into something practical. It’s a mixture of imagination and engineering. Everyone has an imagination, and everyone is able to turn those ideas into something practical. This summer we’re inviting everyone to become Young Imagineers! We have lots to see and do around the museum every day!

What’s on?

July 22 – Aug 6: Join us on weekdays at 11am for our exciting engineering challenges where you’ll use your imagination to build your own version of our Stand Pipe Tower, or see if you can build your own boat out of recycled materials from home – will it sink or sail!?

July 26-28, Campfire Storytelling: On weekday afternoons, at 1pm, join us in the Wild Play Garden where we’ll be making up songs and reading stories around the firepit.

August 2-4, Teddy Bears Picnic: On weekday afternoons at 1pm, bring your packed lunch and your favourite teddy bear for our teddy bear’s picnic! There’ll be storytelling and lots of playing.

Normal admission applies. School holiday activities are free and do not need to be booked in advance.
