On the morning the 19th of October the gas supply to the Museum unexpectedly failed. During the investigation of the failure it became clear that more extensive works were needed to the supply system, which was installed when the Museum was originally set up over forty years ago.
These works will take some time to plan and carry out, and until they are completed the Museum will be unable to operate its stationary engines under steam. The Museum’s railway is not affected and will continue to operate as advertised, and all the Museum’s other attractions continue to be available including Birdie’s café. In particular we are planning to offer some surprise new attractions for the New Year Steam Up.
We deeply apologise for any disappointment caused and hope you will bear with us as we work hard to get our engines back in steam. We will provide information on further developments on our website www.waterandsteam.org.uk . If you have any specific queries about events or progress on the works please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org .BACK TO NEWS
