Exploring Brentford’s past: Archaeology Finds Handling Day

30th April 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Come along to The Museum of Water & Steam on Saturday 30 April to meet archaeologists from MOLA and learn about recent archaeological excavations in the Brentford. Over the last few years archaeologists from MOLA have been using a range of techniques to learn more the area’s past.

Join us on the day to:

  • See a display of finds excavated from the site, some of which are almost 2000 years old
  • Learn what happens during an archaeological excavation and the types of roles involved in investigating the past through finds
  • Handle replica finds and see an archaeologist demonstrate key skills involved in discovering finds
  • Find out how, communities in Brentford have changed through time from Prehistory through to modern times
