London Museum of Water & Steam is a working heritage museum that tells the story of London’s industrial past through its historic pumping engines, exhibitions, and public programmes. We welcome families, schools, tourists, and heritage enthusiasts, offering hands-on learning and engaging experiences both on-site and online.

The Role
We are looking for a Digital & Visitor Experience Officer to support the delivery of engaging content, digital communications, and visitor-facing initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, education, and digital engagement, helping us connect with audiences before, during, and after their visit.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across disciplines and contributing to a cultural organisation with a strong sense of purpose.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting the museum’s digital presence, including website content and email communications
Assisting with the creation and updating of visitor information and interpretive content
Helping to promote exhibitions, events, and learning programmes
Working with internal teams to ensure a consistent and welcoming visitor journey
Gathering basic insights on visitor engagement to inform future improvements

About You
An interest in museums, heritage, culture, or education
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working with digital platforms and content management systems
Organised, proactive, and happy to work collaboratively
Previous experience in a cultural, heritage, or visitor-focused role is desirable but not essential
