Educational Assistant Projects (Volunteer roles):
Delivering schools and education sessions:
This project would involve supporting our Education Officer in the delivery of school and education sessions. Sessions can include games, arts and crafts, engine demonstrations and scientific experiments. All training will be given and scientific knowledge is not required, a CRB check may be performed. This support will be required during the week in school term times.
Developing schools and education sessions:
This project involves developing existing and new sessions that directly relate to the museum. Support will be given in relation to resources and training.
Delivering family activities:
This project involves supporting the Education Officer during the weekends and school holidays delivering, supporting and developing family fun activities. These typically include arts and crafts activities, dressing up and family trails. All training will be provided and a CRB check may be performed. This support will be required during school holidays and some weekends.
This role will involve supporting the Education Officer in relation to administration duties. These essential and important duties and may include; financial documentation such as invoicing, community, educational and school research, managing family and school mailing lists and managing and processing group, community and school bookings.
Researching and archive work:
This project involves supporting the museums educational offer by using the museums extensive archive and other relevant sources to research topics such as the sites social history, the history of specific individuals and other topics. This information may be used to enhance educational sessions, group visit and our family offer.
